5 best World Cup goals since 1998

5 Esteban Cambiasso v Serbia and Montenegro, 2006

Patient, passing build up finished in a way the move deserved.

4 Andrés Iniesta V Holland, 2010

One of my favourites not because of the actual quality of the goal, but for the fact that it won the World Cup for Spain. The Dutch had spent 116 minutes kicking Iniesta and co all over the park, fouling time-wasting and cheating at every opportunity. It would have been a travesty had Holland lifted the World Cup playing that way.

3 Michael Owen V Argentina, 1998

Every Englishman under the age of 30 would list this as one of his favourite World Cup goals. Not just in for my patriotic bias, this goal easily stands alongside any other World Cup great.
