Wenger aims to do transfer business early

A report in today’s Metro suggests Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger plans to get his transfer business done early this summer starting with French striker Yaya Sanogo.

The Auxerre forward is attracting interest from several of Europe’s big clubs with his form this year. He scored seven goals inside a week recently and that was enough to convince Wenger to make his move.

Wenger will try to secure the 20 year old as soon as the transfer window opens as he looks to increase the firepower in his squad.

Uncertain future at the Emirates

With Arsenal not able to guarantee Champions League football next season, Wenger wants to identify his transfer targets early and get the deals done as soon as possible.

No doubt the summer will be a trying time for the Frenchman. Speculation about his top players leaving will again be rife. Wenger will need to persuade his key members of the team to stay and mount a serious challenge at the Manchester clubs next season.
