Talksport report that Borja Valero will be at the heart of a transfer battle between three of the Premier league’s top sides this summer.
The Fiorentina midfielder has played a key role in his side’s impressive Serie A campaign. He has played in all but one match for Fiorentina and the club are currently in a battle for third place and Champions League qualification with AC Milan.
Valero is no stranger to the English Premier League. He played for West Brom in the 2008/9 season but could do nothing to prevent them being relegated. He was considered a failure and loaned out to Mallorca and Villarreal for the next two years of his Baggies contract.
Having left England deemed a flop, Valero now has the opportunity to return from a stronger position. He has had three consistent campaigns in Europe’s best leagues and is now much sought after by the top clubs.
Rebuilt his reputation in Europe
The Spaniard rebuilt his reputation in his native country and signed a permanent deal with Villarreal after his season long loan.
However Villarreal were relegated last season and Valero left for Italy to join Fiorentina. Another impressive campaign has made the Premier League big guns take notice.
Arsenal, Spurs and Man City are all monitoring Valero’s situation.
Man City manager will have to add some quality players to his squad in the summer in order to close the gap on rivals Man Utd.
Arsenal and Spurs will only enter into the transfer battle if they have qualified for the Champions League, so with one of them likely to miss out, they won’t be going head to head in a bidding war.
