Arsenal forward, Lukas Podolski could be leaving the club after just one season according to reports in today’s Sun.
The German international is been tracked by both Juventus and Atletico Madrid.
He joined the club last summer for £10.9m and has scored 13 goals in 34 games in all competitions so far this season. However, in recent weeks he has lost his place in the starting line up with Wenger preferring to play Olivier Giroud as a lone striker, supported by Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshire.
Podolski may also be concerned that Arsenal are currently five points behind the top four of the Premier League. They are now relying on a major slip up by either of their London rivals, Tottenham or Chelsea, if they are to have a chance of playing in the Champions League next season.
At 27 years of age, the German would feel he needs to be playing in Europe’s top competition. Juve and Atletico will almost certainly be there with Juve nine points clear at the top of Serie A and Atletico third in La Liga, 13 points ahead of 4th placed Malaga.
The Sun’s Charlie Wyett says that the Italian giants, who have lost interest in another Arsenal striker, Nicklas Bendtner, are confident they could land Podolski with a bid of around £15m.
