Real Madrid playmaker, Luka Modric, is hoping for a return to the Premier League next season and has his sights set on Manchester United.
It is only a week since Modric came off the bench at Old Trafford in the Champions League tie and transformed the game. He scored a sublime goal and was a constant threat to United.
The Daily Mail report that while the midfielder was in Manchester he ‘let it be known that he would be very keen on a future switch to Old Trafford.’
It is thought that Sir Alex Ferguson would also be very keen on signing Modric. He has been an admirer of the Croatia star ever since he joined Tottenham in 2008.
Modric joined the Real in a £33m move from Tottenham at the end of last season but has struggled to hold down a regular place in the starting line up.
United legend, Paul Scholes is set to retire for a second time at the end of the season. This time it really will be the end of his playing career and Ferguson believes Modric is the man to take up the creative role left by the 38-year-old.
