Paul Lambert has been told that his job is safe even if the unthinkable happens and Aston Villa are relegated.
The Daily Star reports that American owner, Randy Lerner, has been impressed with the way his manager has put his faith in young players. The feeling is that the side can only get better as the youngsters gain more experience.
Lambert will be given time to finish the job he has started at Villa. Even if they go down this season, Lerner sees him as the best man for the job.
He has not forgotten why he appointed Lambert in the first place. The former Norwich boss led the Canneries from the obscurity of League One to the Premiership after two successive promotions before establishing them as a stable mid table top flight club.
He knows the Championship well and knows what will be required should Villa find themselves playing there next season.
