Reports in the Metro say that Italian giants Inter Milan are planning to bid for Tottenham’s flying winger Aaron Lennon in the summer.
The two sides meet on Thursday in the Europa League with Lennon in fine form, having netted the winner against Arsenal on Sunday.
Played second fiddle to Bale
Lennon has mainly played second fiddle to the man on the opposite side of the pitch, Gareth Bale, this season, but that doesn’t hide the fact that he is been one of Tottenham’s consistent performers.
Inter are having an indifferent season by their high standards and are looking to add some firepower to the team to mount a serious title challenge next year.
Lennon a Spurs fan’s favourite
Lennon has been at Spurs since he switched from Leeds in 2003 and has been always been a regular in the first team and fan’s favourite. It is unlikely he would be interested in swapping London for Milan provided Spurs secure qualification for the Champions League.
But that won’t stop Inter trying to tempt Spurs with a bid of around £8m.
