Edin Dzeko could be on his way to Borussia Dortmund according reports in the Metro.
The paper says that the Manchester City striker heads a three man shortlist compiled by the Bundesliga giants.
Dortmund’s Polish striker, Robert Lewandowski, is refusing to sign a new contract and looks to be heading for Bayern Munich or Manchester United.
They see Dzeko as a perfect replacement. The Bosnian has scored 12 league goals for the Premier League Champions this season but is reportedly keen to move back to Germany following his switch from Wolfsburg two years ago.
If City were to sell Dzeko it would free up space in their squad and allow them to pursue long term targets Edinson Cavani and Radamel Falcao.
