Competition fierce for Sanchez

A report by Talksport radio says Liverpool face competition from Napoli in the transfer market for Chilean international Alexis Sanchez this summer.  The wideman has struggled to make an impression at Barcelona since he joined from Udinese in a £23m deal in 2011. Sanchez was the most sought after player in Europe the last time he was up for grabs and it was unsurprising that he chose to join Barcelona.

However, he has struggled to make an impression at the Nou Camp and Barcelona would be willing to let him go, but only if they can recoup most of the money they paid out for him. Despite Sanchez’s modest record this season of just one goal in only nine starts, many of Europe’s big clubs will still be interested. Liverpool lead the way in England and several Italian clubs will certainly be making enquiries about the player.

Form a perfect trio

Brendan Rodgers believes Sanchez would the perfect player to set up his new strike pairing of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge with the opportunities to score.

His arrival would also ease the pressure that has been placed on Raheem Sterling this season. The youngster spent the first half of the season as Liverpool’s second best player behind Suarez. Sanchez’s arrival would allow him to develop his game more naturally without the weight of expectation on him.
