Manchester City have come under the microscope in the media today with the papers speculating which players might be heading in and out of the door at the Etihad.
City have already signed Jesús Navas from Seville but one player who could be leaving is Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko. Dzeko is wanted by Jose Mourinho at Chelsea according to the Daily Star.
Chelsea could pull out of race for Cavani
City would prefer to sell the target man to a foreign club and would be willing to accept offers of around £20m if someone like Borussia Dortmund were to make a move. However, if he were to join a title rival in England the fee would be likely to be higher.
The Star report that Mourinho might be willing to sweeten the deal by pulling out of the race to sign Edinson Cavani, leaving City as the clear favourites to land the Napoli hit man.
Fernandinho deal agreed with Shakhtar Donetsk
Meanwhile, the Daily Telegraph have some more positive news for City fans. They report that Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho is set to join the club after deal with Shakhtar Donetsk has been agreed.
City have tracked the midfielder for a year but were unwilling to meet the £42.5m buy-out clause in his contract. However, they have managed to negotiate a knock down price for the 28-year-old after the player himself raised concerns that his high valuation was threatening to wreck his dream move.
Pepe could also be heading for the Etihad
The Daily Express have reported that City could be willing to go head to head with Chelsea for the signature of Real Madrid defender Pepe. The Portuguesse international has been at the Bernabeau for six years but at the age of 30 he could be ready to leave in order to get one last big contract.
The Express report that City would be willing to increase with wages to £125k per week.
