Pablo Osvaldo could be on his way to Tottenham according to Talksport. The Roma forward was spotted in London this week, when his side were playing in a crucial local derby with rivals Lazio.
Osvaldo is seeking a move away from Roma as he has dropped out of the manager’s first team thoughts in recent months.
Tottenham will face competition for Osvaldo from Juventus and Fiorentina though, who are both also interested.
It is known that Andre Villas-Boas will revamp his strike force in the summer. Emmanuel Adebayor is expected to leave with as many as three new strikers joining the squad.
Tottenham were interested in the Argentine forward when he left Espanyol in 2011 but he opted to head to Italy.
That hasn’t put Spurs off though and they will be prepared to bid up to £12m in order to land the player this time.
Qualifying for next season’s Champions League is key for Tottenham in attracting the top players. It will also be crucial if they hope to hold on to superstar Gareth Bale in the summer.
They are in a three way London tussle for the remaining two Champions League places this season. Spurs currently sit fourth in the table, level on points with Chelsea and two clear of Arsenal but they have played one more game than their rivals.
