It looks like Gervinho’s difficult time in England could finally be coming to an end this summer.
The Arsenal forward is on the radar of Turkish giants Galatasary and the Daily Mail report that the Gunners would be willing to sell for around £12m.
The Ivory Coast star arrived at Arsenal before the start of last season and Arsenal fans were hopeful that Wenger had unearthed another star. He could score and create goals and had helped his club, Lille win the French league.
Arsenal paid £10.8m for him but he never really managed to hold down a regular place in the team and when he did play his performances were inconsistent.
Failed to recapture his form
He has failed to recapture the form he showed in France and has so far only scored 10 goals in 57 games in his two seasons at the club.
With Wenger reported to have a £70m transfer kitty at his disposal in the summer he is looking to bring in at least three genuine world class players. That will leave little room for Gervinho in the squad and he will become surplus to requirements.
Some English supporters may find it ambitious of Arsenal to ask £12m for Gervinho but the price tag hasn’t put Galatasary off.
The Turkish club were impressed with the 25-year-old’s form in the African Cup of Nations and hope he can recapture the consistency he showed at Lille before he came to England.
