Arsenal and Chelsea chase Gabonese Striker

Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the hottest properties in Europe right now and Chelsea and Arsenal are set to join the race for his signature.

The 23-year-old joined Saint- Etienne from AC Milan in 2010 and has scored 32 league goals in 63 games since the start of last season.

He has helped his club reach 4th place in the French League this season. They are just two points behind Marseille with nine games to play so Champions League football is a real possibility for next season.

Aubameyang has already been linked to a move to Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint Germain and Newcastle United but now Champions League hopefuls Arsenal and Chelsea are ready to throw their hats into the ring.

The Sun reports that Arsenal scout, Gilles Grimandi has been to see the striker and come back with glowing reports.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail say that Chelsea are gearing up for a move as they look to improve their attacking options following another disappointing season from £50m man, Fernando Torres.
